Format: The Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, Campus-to-Campus 5K
(3.1 miles) will begin at
WestConn’s Westside campus on Lake Avenue Extension and finish at
WestConn’s Midtown
campus on White Street. ChampionChip timing will be used for all
race participants.
Start times: wheelchair division and fitness walkers at 8:30 a.m.;
runners at 8:45 a.m.
Strollers are welcome!
Race Route: The certified course is as follows: University
Boulevard, Lake Avenue Ext.,
Lake Avenue, West Street, Main Street, Liberty Street, Patriot Drive
and White Street. Live
music and water stations will be positioned along the race course.
Shuttle buses
will transport participants back to the registration and parking
area after the race.
Registration Fee: $15 per person ($20 after the Oct. 8
pre-registration deadline.)
Participation for all WestConn students is free. Only pre-registered
participants will receive
a commemorative race T-shirt. Please note that raceday
registration closes at 8 a.m.
Race Divisions: Prizes will be awarded in the following
divisions: overall male/female,
top WestConn student male/female, top WestConn employee male/female,
top WestConn
alumni male/female, top wheelchair, and all age groups.
Event Proceeds: To benefit WestConn student wellness
programs: purchase fitness
equipment, provide health seminars, etc.
