Western Connecticut State University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.; the Board of Governors of Higher Education, State of Connecticut; the Connecticut State Department of Education; the American Chemical Society; the Collegiate Commission on Nursing Education; the National Association of Schools of Music; the Council on Social Work Education (Baccalaureate level); and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs.
The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. is a nongovernmental, nationally recognized organization whose affiliated institutions include elementary schools through collegiate institutions offering post-graduate instruction.
