Distinguished Alumnus:
Michele Conderino '01
BA, Social Work

Michele Conderino graduated from WestConn with a B.A. in Social Work in 2001, working first as a case manager with the Mental Health Association, and then as case manager for the Homeless Outreach Team for Catholic Charities.

Promoted to Director of Homeless Services in 2007, Conderino took on the daunting task of developing a modest breakfast feeding program for homeless in Danbury, a program now expanded to include multi-site services.

Since her undergraduate days, Ms. Conderino has been a presence in the Department of Social Work and remains committed to her alma mater to this day. Her contributions include assisting Southeast Asian immigrants whose language skills and wariness of community services were barriers to receiving help with documentation, through the Association of Religious Communities services in Danbury.

Today, Conderino is a field supervisor for many WestConn social work interns.  She is a member of our Community Advisory Committee and most recently was co-chair of the Social Work department's spring 2008 alumni reunion. Conderino continues to serve as a fantastic role model for WCSU students and remains a to future graduates about the impact they can have in the contemporary world where economic inequities leave some far behind.
