Distinguished Alumnus:
Kenneth Silliman '96
BBA, Finance

Kenneth Silliman graduated from WestConn with a degree in Finance and a minor in Accounting in 1996.  While attending the university, he was president of the Finance Club and a top officer in the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Kenneth accepted an internship with RBS Greenwich Capital (part of the Royal Bank of Scotland) during his senior year at WestConn. His internship led to an offer to work as an analyst for RBS Greenwich Capital's International Operations group. After working in International Operations for 18 months, he was promoted to assistant vice president and accepted a position on the RBS Greenwich Capital Money Market Trading Desk.

Kenneth has been on the Money Market Trading Desk since the late 90s, where he serves as managing director. Although he trades a wide variety of fixed income instruments (including US Treasuries, futures, options, and interest rate swaps) on an arbitrage basis, his primary responsibilities are as a market maker (similar to a specialist in the equity markets) in short-term Treasury Bills/Notes, Commercial Paper, and provides financing to institutional clients for a variety of Treasury and Derivative Securities.

He currently lives in Ridgefield with his wife Megan, sons Matthew and Justin, and his twins Alex and Mackenzie.
