The Western Connecticut State University Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Office of Alumni Relations invites alumni to be representatives for a new recruitment program called WAAVE (Western’s Alumni and Admissions Volunteer Effort). The purpose of WAAVE is to have alumni present at local college fairs to help Undergraduate Admissions staff promote the university. The best part is that alumni participate in the town in which they live!
We are seeking dynamic and energetic alumni to volunteer their time once or twice a year (at most) at their local college fair. Alumni will help personalize the admissions process by providing students with information about the university and about their personal college experience at Western.
Alumni volunteerism is critical in so many ways, and this program provides a wonderful way to give back to your alma mater. Your knowledge and experience are tremendous assets, and can be used to recruit and enroll quality students at Western. Prospective students and parents want to hear your viewpoint about how Western has helped make you the successful individual you are today. Your volunteer efforts could play a major factor in a prospective student’s decision to attend Western.
Alumni WAAVE volunteers will be provided with training, so you will have the tools you need to inform students about all that Western has to offer. Plus, as you get started in this program, you will be paired with an Undergraduate Admissions counselor who will be present with you at the fair. With the enthusiasm we know our alumni already possess and the proper training and materials, we will be able to continue to recruit and enroll the best students Connecticut and beyond has to offer.
