Eric Holzman

Eric Holzman is a native New Yorker, born in the Bronx and living in Manhattan.  He earned his BFA at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and his MFA at Yale.  He also studied at the NY Studio School and at Skowhegan. A recipient of numerous awards, he received an Atlantic Pacific Fellowship, a Tiffany Grant, a Guggenheim Fellowship and a National Endowment for the Arts grant. In 2008 he received the highest awards from both the National Academy of Design and the American Academy of Art and Letters.

Holzman’s work has been exhibited widely in the US since 1977. Recent shows in NYC have been at Lori Bookstein Gallery, Sideshow Gallery, NY Studio School, Jason McCoy Gallery and Tibor D’Nagy Gallery. He has also had solo shows in Florida, Texas and Italy. His exhibitions have been reviewed in the NY Observer, The New Yorker, Brooklyn Rail, Art in America, Boston Globe, and other publications. He has taught at the NY Studio School, Pratt Institute, Bard College, SUNY Purchase College, and WCSU.
