Edward Little is a naturalized American citizen who was born in the United Kingdom and moved to America in 1983. He obtained his BA in Editorial and Information Design at Ravensbourne College of Art in London, graduating with a double First Class - the highest achievable Honors. Once arrived in the United States Little began freelancing as a designer and illustrator and obtained representation in New York and Los Angeles. He built a successful business serving clients in the corporate, advertizing and publishing worlds including American Express, Citicorp, IBM, Mars, Pepsi, Pfizer, Reader's Digest, UPS and Warner to name but a few. In 1996 he received his first mural commission and spent the following several years concentrating on interior decorative painting, trompe l'oeil effects and murals, whist continuing to undertake private portrait commissions. Currently, Little focuses on portraiture and cityscape painting.
Mr Little's work is on exhibit in galleries in Kent, CT, in Lexington, MA and Bedford, NY. In 2011 Little was one of a small select group of 158 artists selected from over two thousand oil painters nationwide to exhibit in the 2011 Oil Painters of America Juried Show in Idaho. The same year Little graduated from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco with an MFA in Figurative Painting. Amongst his many inspirations Little counts the artists Alma – Tadema, Bouguereau, Collins, Greene, Lipking, Pino, Rembrandt, Sargent, and Schmidt. He has taught Drawing, Illustration and Art History at Western Connecticut State University for ten years and instructed privately in his studio oil painting and drawing for twenty years.
