Stalin Estevez (2001)

"Art is in my soul"

Stalin Estevez is a dynamic illustrator who has completed a four year program at Western as well as a four year art program in his native country, Dominican Republic.  Stalin has actively participated in Western's Prisma art club for three years and has won several awards including Western's Illustration contest for the holiday card in 1997, the Professional Illustration Portfolio Award in 1999 and the Appel Award in 1995 and 1999.

Stalin does freelance work for Rutledge Books, Inc., Demorgan Industries Corporation and several local businesses.  While working for Rutledge he designed seven book covers.  Besides participating in local shows and exhibitions throughout Connecticut, Stalin teaches children at the YMCA Escape for the Arts program.
