Rosalie Appel's Printmaking Demonstration
|
||||||||||
| Professor Rosalie Apple works with the students during the etching process. The etching process is a medium in which a zinc plate is dipped into acid after it has been scraped with a needle and covered with a browning or beeswax mixture to prevent biting. The acid eats at the metal not covered with beeswax and a needle is used to create the design. Once the desired bite is achieved. the ground is cleaned off. and the plate is inked and pressure is applied with a piece of felt to create the picture. Return to 04 Print Show | |
