Speakers this year were

Shawn Kraemer '01 - Art Director at Tracy Locke in Wilton, CT
Alain J. Picard '97 - Illustrator specializing in portraits, owner of Picard Studio
Judy Perry '88 - Fine artist, painter and writer of 'Artists and Writers in their own words' from Maine
Pamela Hochstetter '80 - Owner of Inner Art, expressive painting

Their work is on exhibit is Alumni Hall from April 6th through April 23rd.

Michael Meken '93 - Photographer of images which range from commercial photography to fine art figure studies, owner of Meken Photo was not able to attend this year to due a conflict in client schedule.   

 


Judy Perry explains her  'Artists and Writers in their own words' is a bi monthly series of interviews
Shawn Kraemer tells the graduating students to put themselves in their work and to enjoy what they do.
 

Pamela Hochstetter listens to the other speakers with the attentive audience.

Alain Picard talks about having a studio versus working at home.  He adds that persistence pays off and explains that 60% of his income is from portraiture.  Alain has work in galleries in Connecticut and Massachusetts. 
Pamela explains her journey through illness and self-discovery.  Pamela's son, Timothy, has opened a glass blowing shop, Adeptus Arts, at 38 Bee Brook Road (Rt 47) in Washington Depot.  The grand opening is April 23, 24 and 25.
