Bridget, owner of Blue Horse Arts Studio, and
Jason Foster, owner of Foster Music of the JFosterMusic Studio
complex located in Watertown, CT
hosted an interdisciplinary visual art and music event “Field
Projects” to celebrate our connections to the natural world.
The opening exhibition was Friday, October 28th, 7PM- 9PM.
Foster says, “I have always been fascinated by the way a person
or group of people can generate and organize sound into music
that creates transformative experience for both the player and
listener. In my humble opinion, music should be an integral part
of every person's life whether they are performing it, listening
to it, or both.”
The theme of the exhibition is to promote
awareness of the connection between food, culture, and the
environment, thinking globally and acting locally. The
conceptual thread of this exhibition is based on the outreach
and entanglement of artists, farmers, the environment, and
community through mutual exchange.
Participating artists are Bridget Grady MFA '04, Watertown CT, Anne
FlynnMFA '04, Old Saybrook CT;
Matang Gonzales '86, Bethleham CT,

Bridget says, “The artists participating in this event are
working within two criteria. Firstly, to support local farmers
by creating a piece inspired by and purchased at the Local
Farmers Market. The rationale behind this is to support, at
least symbolically, the Connecticut
farmers who practice organic and sustainable agriculture on a
local level. The second criterion is that the artists will
donate a percentage of the sale of their work to the Local Food
Bank. This donation benefits the community, the farmers, and the
artists who participate in this project. Public attendance to
this event brings the project full circle.”
