Realizing the Vision
The School of Visual and Performing Arts (SVPA) at Western Connecticut
State University is recognized as one of the region's distinctive public
university programs in the arts. The SVPA brings together art, music and
theatre arts for the better development and promotion of the arts
disciplines. The educational and artistic experiences of students,
faculty, alumni and patrons of the arts will be enhanced by the addition
of a 350-seat concert hall, a 350-seat theater, an art gallery,
recording studio, as well as state-of-the-art rehearsal, classroom and
studio art facilities.
This school has the potential to establish Western as the region's
premier center for cultural, intellectual and artistic excellence.
