Linda Rynkowski is an observational, representational painter passionately engaged in the tradition of perceptual painting. She writes, "When engaged in painting from observation, I seek to evoke the sense of atmospheric phenomenon found in nature, creating a dialogue in which the subject transcends the canvas, evoking a sense of deep, intimate space, the perception of color as light."
She is a member of the Silvermine Arts Center. In January of 2012 she was also invited to join the Artist Residency Program at the Vermont Studio Center.
She holds a BFA degree in graphic design from the College of Fine Arts at Boston University and has been awarded graduate certificates from her studies in the arts from the Yale Summer Graduate Program in Graphic Design, formerly of Brissago, Switzerland, as well as the Maine Summer Institute of Graphic Design at the Portland School of Art.
Before attending WCSU, she was an adjunct professor of graphic design at Southern CT State University. She continually exhibits and was recently invited to exhibit her "About Town" series as a solo exhibition in Darien, CT.
