“To me painting is an alchemical process, which transforms base materials into something that speaks to the essence of human experience. I seek to tap the heart of life, by exploring perception and reality from my unique point of view.”
Originally from California, where he was born in 1967, Tony Zatzick has lived, worked and exhibited in both Europe and the Americas. His work has been selected for exhibition by many well-known artists and critics including Irving Sandler, William Bailey, Graham Nickson, Charles Cajori, Barbara Grossman and Bernard Chaet. His work has been included in exhibition alongside Philip Pearlstein, Janet Fish and Jamie Wyeth.
Tony received a BA in Painting from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1989, and an MFA from Western Connecticut State University, where he was awarded the Master of Fine Art award in 2004. He has studied at the New York Studio School and interned for well-known artist Hugh O’ Donnell. He currently helps run the M.F.A. Program in Painting and Illustration at Western Connecticut State University as an assistant, and works as an Educational Consultant for Liquitex Artist’s Acrylics.
He is a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor and recently released his debut CD of Sacred Devotional Music “The Love and Light of Guru Ram Dass”, under his Spiritual name Harnam Singh, which is being distributed by Spirit Voyage Records.
