“CREATIVE VOICE II”

Visual Art Exhibition / Undergraduate, Graduate & Faculty Sponsored in part by the Bauhaus Art Club Exhibition Eligibility: Open to all WCSU, “School of Visual & Performing Arts” including undergraduate, graduate and faculty. Accepting original 2 and 3-D works in all media that reflects your own Creative Voice. Medias include, but are not limited to, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and prints. Jury Process: Jurors are David Boyajian, Adjunct Drawing Instructor, WCSU, NCC, and Founder/Master Sculptor of Sculpture Barn and Carter Boyajian, Gallery Director. Artists may submit up to four pieces of original art work. Sculpture Barn will select at least one piece by each artist. (See drop off and pick up dates below.) No academic exercises will be considered. Sculpture Barn is most interested in seeing what you have to say with your work. . .hence the title of the show, Creative Voice II. All work must be for sale / framed & ready to hang. Stretched canvas with finished edge is acceptable. You can find cheaper frames on www.framesbymail.com On the following application form, please include “retail price” of art work. This would be your price plus 30%. We will help you with your pricing if you so desire. Sculpture Barn retains a 30% commission on sales and we encourage artist involvement when promoting shows ie; postcard mailing, poster hanging etc… Entry Fee: A fee of $10 must accompany your (up to four) entries of original art work. Cash or checks only accepted for entry fee at drop off. Accepted Work: Artwork must remain in the gallery for the entire exhibit. No early withdrawals. Works that are sold either by the gallery or the artist will be marked with a red dot. Artists may exhibit their work in other venues at the same time. Friday, Mar. 4 - 7 Artists will receive show invitations to be mailed Thursday, Mar. 13, 4 pm to 7 pm & Friday, Mar. 14, noon – 2 pm: Drop-off original art work for selection process Monday, Mar. 24, 12 – 1pm & 4 - 7 pm Pick up rejected work *email notification will be made by March 23 Sunday, March 30, 3 pm to 6 pm Opening reception Sculpture Barn, 3 Milltown Rd, New Fairfield, CT (5 miles pass midtown campus) Friday, April 11, 8 pm – RIFF moving poetry film by DJ Kadagian and friends Popcorn included/BYOB/ Free to the public Saturday, April 19 & Sunday, April 20: Show Closes / pick up un-sold work Sat – 6 pm to 8 pm / Sunday, noon to 2 pm The Gallery is open from 10 am to 6 pm.
