The Community Cancer Collaborative (CCC) a group consisting of Praxair, American Cancer Society and Ann's Place, The Home of I CAN, held an  art exhibit at Danbury Hospital:
“The Joy of Survival – Expressions of the Cancer Journey through Art” for cancer survivors and caregiver, friends and family of cancer patients / survivors. The committee  displayed drawings, paintings, and other forms of art as well.  Photography, poetry, handwork, or sculpture is welcome.  The intention of the exhibit is to display artwork of cancer survivors and those affected by cancer as an expression of their journey.  The art show dates are  June 2 to June 30, 2005.

Pat Hough, Director at the Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital, introduced the evening's speakers including, Frank Kelly, President of Danbury Hospital, Mayor Mark Boughton, City of Danbury and Dr. Robert Cooper,
Medical Oncologist, Oncology Associates.
Dorothy Lal whose husband is a cancer patient played the piano as people walked in.
Dr. Cooper toasted the cancer survivors and their loved ones in attendance.

Bob Eberding  and Jo Ann Simon, both artists and cancer survivors.  Jo Ann was on the committee and volunteered to set up the art work

Philip Albanesi made the plane (in case) while recuperating at Danbury Hospital and his mom, Janet wrote the text about emotions.  The fused glass in the case was made by Maryann Meken-Silvestri

Wayne Poulter, an artist, cancer survivor and driving force behind the exhibition with his dad, Bob.

Katie Conway played for the crowd.

Kathryn Kosak, with her photo "Beacon of Hope", is a
cancer survivor, a tutor and an advocate.
