Rolandas Kiaulevicius (MFA 2006)

Rolandas has always been influenced by art.

He was eleven when he attended art school in Druskininkai and spent his high school years with his uncle, Vytautas Dabrukas, a well-known artist and sculptor in Lithuania.

Rolandas was inspired by him, and took his brushes and paints to Siauliu Pedagogical University where he studied art and woodworking.  After finishing his bachelor's degree, he came America and married his wife Laura.  He studied English at Gateway Community College and then Yale.  As his English improved, he went to the Paier Art College and in 2006 graduated from the master's program at the Western Connecticut University in illustration.

He lives with his wife Laura in New Haven, Connecticut. Besides illustrating the books, Rolandas loves designing the sets and props for the shows, creating murals, making sculptures, teaching art, drawing and, of course, dancing.
