1. One-Person Exhibitions

Ø Lee Cordon, M.F.A. '04, will have a show at the Litchfield library in August '05.

Ø Marilyn Lindner, M.F.A. '02, had a show called "Beneath the Surface" at the Medenhall Gallery Building in Lexington, N.C. from August to December 2004. She is currently having 2 exhibits; "Captured Memory: Time and Space" at the Worrell Center School of Law and Business Management at Wake Forest University (through May 20th), and at the Sticht Gallery, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem (through June 30th).

Ø Joel Spector, M.F.A. '05 has an upcoming show at Weiss-Pollock Gallery in Chelsea next season.

Ø Mounira Stott, M.F.A. '04, has a current exhibit at the Gunn Memorial Library and Museum in Washington, Connecticut (through May 2005) and one scheduled at the Exhibit Hall of the Artists Guild of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Tatastan Russian Federation in July 2005.

2. Juried Exhibitions

Ø Helen Anne, M.F.A. '06, was included in 25th Annual College Photography Contest held by Photographers Forum.

Ø Doris Kaye, M.F.A. '06, 2 works included in Spectrum: Annual Juried Event for Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, and Sculpture, New Canaan Society for the Arts, juried by Douglas K.S. Hyland, Director of New Britain Museum, New Britain, Connecticut.

Ø Mounira Stott, Work included in 21st Anniversary "I Love Manhattan 2004 Competition" sponsored by Manhattan Arts International, New York.

Ø Tony Zatzick, had work included in 2 national competitions: Bowery Gallery, New York City, juried by William Bailey, nationally recognized painter, and "Drawing from Perception V" juried by Charles Cajori, a nationally recognized painter and expert on drawing.

Ø Carmen Lund Leahy, M.F.A. '06 is on the faculty of Silvermine of Art in New Canaan, Connecticut where she teaches a course twice a year called "Personal Visions." She has also taught courses in her studio and in Viequs, Puerto Rico.

Ø Nicole Salva taught young peoples art classes at the Boroski School of Art in Shelton, Connecticut.

Ø Joel Spector teaches illustration at Western Connecticut State University.

Ø Tony Zatzick teaches painting at the Washington Art Association and is an educational advisor for Liquitex Paints, and has made presentations at the Rhode Island School of Design, School of Visual Arts, Parsons, Massachusetts College of Art and many other universities and Art schools.

3. Awards and Fellowships

Ø Helen Anne, was a finalist in 25th Annual Photography Contest and received an honorable mention in the "Changed Lives" essay contest at Western Connecticut State University.

Ø Lee Cordon received a full fellowship to the Vermont Studio Center in September 2004. (This is a highly competitive fellowship with hundreds of entries internationally. Lee is the 2nd Western M.F.A. to receive this fellowship).

Ø Doris Kaye received 1st prize in oil and acrylic painting in the New Canaan Society for the Arts Annual Juried Event.

Fellowship: Diversity Conference, Boston Society of Architects, World Trade Center, Boston, Massachusetts

Grant: Massachusetts Cultural Council: Cancer Survivor Painting Courses

Fellowship: Conference on Communities/Education, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Cambridge, Massachusetts

Ø Mounira Stott received an Award of Excellence in the "I Love Manhattan 2004 Competition."

Ø Tony Zatzick received a residency grant to the Vermont Studio Center in September.

4. Group Exhibitions

Ø Phyllis Boger, M.F.A. '02 was in a 4-person show at White Silo Gallery in Sherman (August "04). She has two pieces in the Tunica Art Museum in Tunica, Mississippi, and at the Amero Music Center and also has  two paintings hanging at the Museum in Tunica, Mississippi.

Ø Nancy White Cassidy, M.F.A. '04 has a painting in the 2005 Members Show at the Washington Art Association.

Ø Lee Cordon, M.F.A. '04 has a piece in the Washington Art Association members Show. Her work was also included in a group show at Artwell Gallery in Torrington, Connecticut. She will also be included in Small Works Invitational at Blue Mountain Gallery this summer.

Ø Laurie Girouard, M.F.A. '04 has a piece in the Washington Art Association Members Exhibit and will have a piece in the Small Works Invitational at Blue Mountain Gallery.

Ø Joan Kelly, M.F.A. '05 had several pieces included in the Invitational National Exhibit at the National Ceramic Education Association "Tour deClay" at the Savatoga Trunk Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland, sponsored by the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Ø Roland Kiaulevicius, M.F.A. '06 had work included in a three-person show at the Blue Hands Studio in Branford, Connecticut, and at the Utrecht Art Supply Store in New Haven, Connecticut.

Ø Marilyn Lindner, M.F.A. '02 participated in 2 group exhibitions at the Hart-Witzen Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Ø Ival Stratford-Kovner, M.F.A. '02 participated in an exhibition at a conference at the University of Aukland, New Zealand and Small Works Invitational at Blue Mountain Gallery this summer.

5. Works Shown for Reproduction

Ø Helen Anne - work included in "Best of College Photography Annual 2005."

Ø Carmen Lund Leahy, M.F.A. '06 – freelance design for Caspari cards

Ø Ival Stratford-Kovner "Fifty Years of Sister City exchanges, Artwork and writings: Strasboug/Boston Exchange 1996"

Ø Joel Spector had illustrations published by Harper Collins and Avon Books. He also developed a series of fantasy cards for Wiz Kids.

Ø Mournira Stott

"Voices" Newspaper reproduced a cityscape with notice of exhibition, as did the Republican-American.

She also had a work reproduced in the Alumni News.

Ø Tony Zatzick Voices Newspaper reproduced his painting "Cloud Study, Vermont" with accompanying article on his one-person show at the Gunn Library-work was also reproduced in New Milford Spectrum.

6. Teaching and Lecturing

Ø Nancy White Cassidy taught courses in Illustration, College Portfolio Preparation, Self-Portraits and Perspective Drawing at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury, Connecticut, Brookfield Craft Center, Brookfield, Connecticut, the Washington Art Association, Washington Depot, Connecticut, and the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts, Ludlow, Vermont.

Ø Ival Stratford-Kovner was Visiting Professor of Art History at Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, Massachusetts. She was a Conference Lecturer at the University of Aukland, New Zealand. She also presented at the United Nations Ecology Conference sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Chevy Chase.

Ø Tony Zatzick, M.F.A. '04 participated in the Washington Art Association Members Show and will be in the Blue Mountain Gallery Small Works Invitational in New York City.

7. Education and Conferences

Ø Anne Flynn, M.F.A. '04 did post-graduate studies at the New York Studio School and attended a special class in Orvieto, Italy taught by Graham Nickson and Ruth Miller. She is currently enrolled in the Teachers College/Art and Art Education program at Columbia University.

Ø Bridget Grady, M.F.A. '04, Nicole Salva, M.F.A. "05 and Jayne Webb, M.F.A. "06 participated in The New York Studio School Drawing Marathon, taught by Graham Nickson.

Ø Lee Cordon, Laurie Girouard, Joan Polzin, M.F.A. '05, Mounira Stott, Tony Zatzick did residency studies at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont.

Ø Lee Cordon, Bridget Grady and Joan Polzin participated in workshops at the studio of Hugh O’Donnell.

Ø Nancy White Cassidy attended the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators summer conference in Los Angeles and their winter conference in New York. She also attended the National Stationery Show and the Book Expo American Conventions in New York.

Ø Ival Stratford-Kovner participated in Community Colleges Planning Committee for 2006 Portfolio Exhibition at the College Art Association in Atlanta, Georgia.

8. Miscellaneous

Ø Nancy White Cassidy has founded the Western Connecticut Picture Book Group which meets monthly in her studio.

Ø Ival Stratford-Kovner participated in "The Gates;" Christo installation in Central Park.

Ø Lee Cordon and  Laurie Girouard have rented a studio together in Watertown.
