MARJORIE PORTNOW has had her paintings exhibited in numerous galleries, including Fishbach Gallery (NYC), Harcus-Krakow (Boston), and Contemporary Realist Gallery (San Francisco), and included in exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art. Her paintings are in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and Middlebury College, Vermont. She has received two NEA grants, two Ingram Merrill grants, two Radcliffe (Bunting) Institute grants and two Tiffany grants. She has taught at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, the New York Studio School, U.C. Santa Cruz, Brooklyn College, the University of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Vermont Studio Center, and now is teaching at Western Connecticut State University.
Marjorie Portnow is the 2005 recipient of the Henry Ward Ranger Award from the National Academy of Design.
