What is the agenda for the Mentor Program orientation/kick-off?

Friday, September 20th, 2013

6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Informal reception with Mentors, students, faculty and staff

7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Separate student and Mentor Orientations will be held (an overview of logistics and expectations of the Program).

If I cannot attend the Mentor Program Orientation/Kick-off, can I still participate in the Mentor Program?  Absolutely, however, students will be required to attend a separate orientation.

When will I be notified of my mentor assignment?  Mentor assignments will be emailed to you by Friday, September 27th.

Once I have received my Mentor assignment, what should I do next?  The first thing is to contact your Mentor.  Discuss how, when and where you can meet and what topics you would like to discuss.  You will want to set up your initial meeting as soon as possible.  You may wish to bring a personal profile for your Mentor that includes your work history, education, interests and ambitions.  Beyond that meeting, it is up to you and your Mentor to decide what you would like to accomplish and how often you would like to meet.

If you have any further questions, please contact the Ancell Mentor Program Coordinator, Elise Silkowski, at (203) 837-8567 or at silkowskie@wcsu.edu.
