Students in Dr. Koza's capstone marketing course present their plan for entering the Chinese office supply market in a 3-way teleconference (inset) with corporate client Staples and our partner university in China.

MKT 599 Special Topics Dr. Koza mentored students in an MBA Student Case Competition sponsored by the IW Group.  The case focused on the creation of a national level Intergenerational Leadership Volunteer Institute for AARP, Washington, DC.  Our MBA students won 1st place, competing against the University of Texas, Dallas; University of California, Northridge; Golden Gate University.

MKT 415 Marketing Research Dr. Oumlil's students designed, administered and analyzed survey research for:
-WCSU Housing Office
-WCSU Student Services Center Food Services
The Institute for Financial Literacy at Western Connecticut State University and the Ancell School of Business.
-Ancell School. Business Global Perspectives and Attitudes toward Cultural Diversity among Business Students at WCSU
MKT 490 Marketing Management Professor Giacolone's students developed comprehensive marketing plans for:
- Shave Sharp, a start-up company established by businessman, entrepreneur,  and long-time Ancell  supporter Mr. Dan Cirilli.
-Western Connecticut Health Network.

Students in Dr. Cronin's course developed social networking plans or recommendations for local organizations including:

Students also assisted an entrepreneurial organization from Costa Rica break into the consumer packaged goods market in the United States.

MKT 380 CRM and Database Marketing

Students in Dr. Drozdenko's course worked with managers of The United Way of Western Connecticut and Western Connecticut Health Network.  The student teams provided recommendations to improve the database and develop customer relationship programs.

MKT 315 Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications



Dr. Cronin's students developed social networking plans for local organizations.  Below, Ming Chan; Brianne Guyton; Cory Marker; Jon Demers and Stephanie Arias worked for their client, Terri Nackid of Regional Hospice. 

 

MKT 380 CRM and Database Marketing

Students worked with managers of The Hour newspaper of Norwalk, CT and examined the subscriber and advertiser databases.  They provided recommendations to improve the databases and develop customer relationship programs.

MKT 509 Fundamentals of Marketing Management

MKT 534 Strategic Marketing Management

Students worked in international collaborations with Loyola College, Chennai, India. All classes investigated real issues real-time for a large multinational company (Staples, Inc.)  relating to doing business in a culturally rich and diverse consumer retail market - India. Several of these classes SKYPED with Staples in China (liaison involved in both the Indian and China markets).

Students developed an IMC plan for the Brookfield Cultural Center.

 

MKT 490 Marketing Management:  Analysis, Planning and Implementation

Students in this capstone course collaborated with students from SIAS university in China to explore the office products market in China for client organization Staples.

Students developed an IMC plan for Ourlivingtree.com a company that records family trees and family histories in digital formats.

MKT 411 E-Commerce and Internet Marketing

Websites and company competitors were analyzed for two regional companies, Starstruck and Phoenix Products.  Starstruck sells licensed sports apparel and Phoenix Product developed Pediclear, a disinfectant for foot spas.

MKT 490 Marketing Management:  Analysis, Planning and Implementation

Students in this course worked with Q-Products, a company owned by a marketing alumnus.  The students provided recommendations for this rapidly expanding business.

MKT 534 Strategic Marketing Management

Students in this MBA course provided Staples with recommendations on expansion into Chinese market segments.

MKT 315 Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications

 

 

A Web video for Candlewood Marketing Corp. Students are developing the creative concept for the video, storyboarding and scripting it, and producing and editing it. The video is intended to bring the company's Web site into the Web 2.0 era. This is a competitive project: six teams of students are competing to see which one's video will be selected by Candlewood.

MKT 395 Advanced Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications

Students conducted several market studies for a local agency, Leverage Marketing, including studying current practices to market to multicultural groups in the U. S.

 

MKT 411 E-Commerce and Internet Marketing

 

Students are conducting a website analysis and conducting research on potential target markets.  Students will make recommendations for web marketing strategies and website improvements.

MKT 490 Marketing Management:  Analysis, Planning and Implementation

Students in this capstone course are collaborating with students from SIAS university in China to develop a comprehensive marketing plan for the Yutong Bus company.  This project is part a ongoing relationship between the Ancell School and SIAS University.
