HON 250 Honors Seminar 3 SH
Issues of contemporary significance are addressed from an interdisciplinary perspective. The seminar topic, announced in advance, changes each year. Students are expected to take an active role in examining and debating issues. Each student completes an individual research study of an aspect of the seminar topic. Prerequisite: grade point average of 3.2 or higher. First year students are eligible if they meet requirements for University Scholars. See description or contact the director, Dr. Steven Ward, Dept of Social Sciences. This course may be repeated for credit with a different topic. [Honors Seminar may be applied toward fulfillment of general education requirements. Because of the seminar's interdisciplinary nature, credit will be applied toward an area agreed upon by the individual student and the director, in consultation with the appropriate school dean, and said credit will directly relate to that year's course content and the student's individual study.]
