Students at Western Connecticut State University may take Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) classes at the main campus of the University of Connecticut at Storrs. Students concurrently registered full-time at WCSU pay no additional tuition for these classes. Credits earned may be transferred as free elective credits toward the WCSU degree by having an official transcript sent from UConn to the WCSU Registrar's office. Grades are not transferred. The freshman and sophomore courses are open to all students and carry no military obligation.
Registration must be completed through the Registrar's Office at UConn. Documentation certifying full-time enrollment at WCSU can be acquired through the WCSU Registrar's office.
Students may pursue a commission in the United States Air Force by completing a four-year sequence of AFROTC courses and other specified requirements; they may obtain information about this option from the AFROTC office at UConn. Scholarships are available to qualified students. The scholarships, which carry a military obligation, pay up to full tuition and fees, as well as money for books and a monthly stipend.
For further information, interested students should telephone the Air Force ROTC office at 860-486-2224 or visit the website at www.airforce.uconn.edu.
