Hurricane Harvey Relief for Houston, TX
~Starting on September 26th, The Newman Club is collecting various items for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. There will be a Pod located on the lawn of the Newman Center where you can drop off your donations. Donation hours will be Monday-Friday from 2-6pm and Saturday from 10-6pm. The program will continue until October 6th. The items we are looking for include:

Pencil top erasers Glue Sticks/Elmer’s glue Backpacks
Large pink erasers Pencil sharpeners School supplies box
Blue, black, or red pens Safety scissors Pencil case/bag
Notebook papers Construction paper Crayons
Composition books Dry erase makers Ruler
Index cards Gallon/Quart size ziplocs Play dough
Pocket folders Scientific calculators Puzzles (large pieces)
Highlighters Staplers/staples Bubbles
White computer paper Legos (large size) Easy reading books

 

Morning Glory Breakfast Program
~The Newman Club is collecting juice boxes for the Morning Glory Breakfast Program. Bring them to the Newman Center and we will see that the program receives them.

Food Pantry
We Need Your Help! College students are going hungry!

Items needed

      • Easy Mac
      • Instant Oatmeal
      • Ramen Soup
      • Popcorn
      • Granola Bars
      • Juice boxes
      • Vitamin Water or Packets
      • Potato Chips, Pretzels, Etc.
      • Pop Tarts
      • Prepared Stews (Dinty Moore, Etc.) – Any non-perishable item that you just add water to and preferably can be eaten out of the same container
      • Pudding, Fruit snacks
      • Individual Cereal Cups

Toiletries – Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Soap, Shampoo, Lotion, Etc.

All students will be able to pick up bags of food at the Newman Center. This takes place every Thursday (when school is in session) from 3pm – 5pm. The only requirements are that you are a WCSU student and that you present your ID badge when you arrive.

Habitat for Humanity

The Newman Center will be working with Habitat for Humanity to help with projects around the Danbury area. We will be choosing a project very soon.
