 The Career Development Center schedules special career programs, frequently in conjunction with student clubs, organizations or academic departments. These collaborative efforts provide students with the opportunity to meet with professionals in their fields of interest. Special Career Days may also be arranged on a larger scale, depending on a space available basis. Check with the CDC for the latest information on upcoming programs and events.

 

 

        CAREER WEEK Nov. 2nd - Nov. 5th in celebration

        of National Career Development Month

The Career Development Center is celebrating National Career Development  Month in November with a special week of activities. Students can participate in a number of career programs including a "Career Decision-Making Workshop"  to give students strategies on exploring career options;  a webinar to help students explore the value and opportunity of gaining international experience "From Study Abroad to Career Abroad:  A Student's Guide to Gaining International Experience" ; and a "Speed-Networking" program to help students learn strategies to build important professional  and personal connections.  Pre-registration is required for the "Speed Networking" event (by Oct. 28th. see CDC for further details).

CDC Drop-in Hours are also scheduled during the week for students to "drop-in" with quick questions about careers, have a resume critiqued or to find out more about CDC programs and services.  See schedule below for more details on Career Week activities.

Etiquette Dinner - Tuesday October 13th, 2009

The Career Development Center again hosted our very popular annual Etiquette Dinner Program entitled "Putting Your Best Fork Forward", on Tuesday October 13th from 5-8pm at  the Westside  Campus Center Ballroom. Author and Professional Etiquette Consultant Ann Marie Sabath  addressed various topics including "Key Ways for Enhancing Your Professional Style"  and "Dining Etiquette". Information was also presented on effective  business communication including business etiquette in correspondence, making a positive first impression, networking, and international business and dining etiquette.
