Event Format: 5K (3.1 miles) will begin at WestConn’s Westside campus on Lake Avenue Extension and finish at
WestConn’s Midtown campus on White Street
Start time for runners will be 8:30 a.m.
Start time for the walking division will be 8:45 a.m.
Race Route: The certified course is as follows: University Boulevard, Lake Avenue Ext., Lake Avenue, West
Street, Main Street, Liberty Street, Patriot Drive and White Street. Live music and water stations will be positioned
along the race course. Shuttle buses will transport participants back to the registration and parking area after the
race. Strollers are welcome!
Registration Fee: $15 per person ($18 after the April 18 pre-registration deadline.) Participation for
WestConn students is free. Only pre-registered participants will receive a commemorative race T-shirt.
Race Divisions and Prizes: Prizes will be awarded in the following divisions: overall male/female, top
WestConn student male/female, top WestConn employee male/female, top WestConn alumni male/female, top corporate team (4
members), top 65+ male/female, most creative use of WestConn colors (navy blue and copper.)
Event Proceeds: To benefit WestConn student wellness programs: purchase fitness equipment, provide health
seminars, etc.
