This is the first semester of a full year course that comprises a thorough survey of the modern principles of chemistry. Emphasis during this first semester is on atomic and molecular structure, quantitative relationships, thermodynamics and electro-chemistry. In the second semester the emphasis is on physical and chemical equilibria, kinetics, and descriptive chemistry. Every Semester. (3 hours lecture - 3 hours laboratory).
Prerequisite: A "C" grade or better in CHE 100 or appropriate placement examination grade.
NOTE:
Students entering the Chemistry department who desire to take CHE 110 must take the CHEMISTRY PLACEMENT EXAM, the grade for which determines placement into CHE 110 or into CHE 100.
