CHE 120:  SURVEY OF CHEMISTRY I

This is the first semester of a full -year course that comprises of the fundamentals of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biological chemistry which are necessary for the study of nursing, physiology, nutrition, pharmacology, bacteriology and other health-related fields. The laboratory experiments are designed to emphasize the main topics.  This first semester covers  the basic principles of atoms, compounds, nomenclature, reactions, stoichiometry, gases, and equilibrium.  Fall semester. (3 hours lecture - 3 hours laboratory). 

Prerequisite: General education math placement or math SAT score of 500 or above.
