CHE 120: SURVEY OF CHEMISTRY I
This is the first semester of a full -year course that comprises of the fundamentals of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biological chemistry which are necessary for the study of nursing, physiology, nutrition, pharmacology, bacteriology and other health-related fields. The laboratory experiments are designed to emphasize the main topics. This first semester covers the basic principles of atoms, compounds, nomenclature, reactions, stoichiometry, gases, and equilibrium. Fall, Spring, possibly Summer. (3 hours lecture - 3 hours laboratory).
Prerequisite: C or better in CHE 100 or appropriate chemistry placement exam grade.
NOTE:
Students entering the Chemistry department who desire to take either CHE 120 must take the CHEMISTRY PLACEMENT EXAM, the grade for which determines placement into CHE 120 or into CHE 100.
