CHE 260: CONCEPTS OF PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY
This one-semester course is designed to better prepare the student who is planning to take the Physical Chemistry course sequence (CHE 300/CHE 301). It will encompass the chemistry, physics and mathematics concepts and skills required for understanding the theoretical foundations of classical thermodynamics, kinetics, quantum mechanics and statistical thermodynamics. Emphasis will be placed on the application of mathematical principles in solving physico-chemical problems. Students majoring or minoring in Chemistry may not apply credit for this course toward meeting their chemistry requirements.
Prerequisites: CHE 111, MAT 182, PHY 110.
