CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students graduating with chemistry or biochemistry degrees will:

(1) be proficient in a majority of the six main branches of chemistry, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry;

(2) be competent in the use of practical chemical laboratory techniques, skills and safety;

(3) be able to utilize scientific literature resources in academic and independent research;

(4) be able to clearly disseminate scientific information in a written format;

(5) be able to clearly disseminate scientific information in a verbal format.
