Academic Regalia Information
Attention: Associate, Bachelor's & Master's Degree Candidates
DEGREES CONFERRED: JANUARY, MAY OR AUGUST 2013
Undergraduate Commencement: Sunday, May 12, 2013, Athletic Stadium,
Westside campus.
Graduate Commencement: Friday, May 10, 2013, O'Neill Center,
Westside campus.
ACADEMIC DRESS
All participants in the academic procession are required to wear
academic regalia (cap, gown, hood and tassel). In our ongoing
efforts to "go green," the gowns and caps sold to students for
Commencement are made of 100 percent, post-consumer recycled plastic
bottles. Academic regalia purchases are handled through the WCSU
Alumni Office.
ACADEMIC REGALIA INFORMATION
A full set of academic regalia (cap, gown, hood and tassel) costs:
- $55 for Bachelor's/Associate Regalia
- $60 for Master's Regalia
- $20 for WCSU Stole of Gratitude (optional)
If you wish to place a special order (individual pieces instead of a full set of regalia), call the Alumni Office at (203) 837-8298 or visit us in Old Main 302.
You may order your regalia as follows:
- Online orders: Complete the appropriate Academic Regalia Online Order Form. Acceptable forms of payment for online orders are credit/debit cards only.
- In person/by mail orders: Complete the appropriate Academic Regalia Order Form (PDF) and submit it with your payment to the: WCSU Alumni Office, Old Main 302, 181 White Street, Danbury, CT 06810. Acceptable forms of payment are check or money order made payable to: WCSUAA Commencement Fund. Cash is not accepted. Credit/debit cards are not accepted for in person/by mail payments.
Your order form and payment must be received no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 (Associate, Bachelor's & Master's Degree).
You must apply for graduation at the Registrar's Office (undergraduate students) or Graduate Office (graduate students) prior to submitting your academic regalia order. No refunds will be issued for academic regalia. When completing your Academic Regalia Order Form, be sure you know your academic school, major and degree. Don't forget to complete your graduate survey and return it at the Grad Salute or drop it off to the WCSU Alumni Office (Old Main 302).

WCSU STOLE OF GRATITUDE
Is there a special person who through educational,
inspirational, moral or financial support, made a big difference in
your academic achievement? The WCSU Stole of Gratitude offers an
opportunity to say, "Thanks for helping me succeed." Stoles can be
purchased from the WCSU Alumni Office, Old Main 302, Midtown campus
and are available for purchase on the Academic Regalia Order Forms.
HONORS CORDS
Undergraduate honors cords are provided by the Registrar's
Office and are based on the last overall GPA recorded, not including
the current semester. You must have earned 45 credits at Western as
of the end of January intersession, and must be graduating in May
(this spring must be your final semester). The Registrar's Office
will notify all eligible honors cords recipients towards the end of
the spring semester.
GRAD SALUTE/ACADEMIC REGALIA PICK-UP
The WCSU Alumni Association will host a Grad Salute on:

3 to 7 p.m.
Warner Hall, WCSU Midtown campus
Along with picking up your pre-ordered academic regalia, the event is an opportunity for graduating undergraduate and graduate students to finalize their Commencement needs in one stop. Representatives will be on hand to assist students in making final graduation preparations.
You must provide a photo ID when picking up your academic regalia. If you are unable to pick up your academic regalia, please ask a friend or family member to do it for you (please provide a handwritten note signed with your permission).
Information pertaining to commencement will be sent to your university ConnectMail account and can also be found online on the Commencement Web site. If you have any questions regarding academic regalia orders, call the Alumni Office at (203) 837-8298 or visit us in Old Main 302.
