Vice President for Diversity, Access and Equity Marian College of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Diversity, Access and Equity. This senior executive serves as the chief diversity officer of the campus reporting directly to the President. The Vice President for Diversity, Access and Equity will participate in the President’s Cabinet serving as part of the executive leadership team to develop and strengthen initiatives and programs that advance MarianCollege. MarianCollegeis a private, Catholic applied liberal artsCollegecommitted to learning, dedicated to service and social justice, and joined together by spiritual traditions. Celebrating 70 years of excellence, MarianCollegeserves approximately 3,100 traditional, adult and graduate students and offers programs at the bachelor and master degree levels, as well as a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Leadership. The Vice President for Diversity, Access and Equity will enhance the College environment to provide a welcoming and supportive community for students, faculty and staff, regardless of personal experiences and world views that arise from differences of race, culture and religion. Success will be measured based on improvements in campus climate as well as recruitment and retention of a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. Additionally, this newly created executive position will provide leadership for enhancing and implementing the College’s comprehensive diversity program. Responsibilities: 1.Advance a campus climate that respects, values, and supports the academic, social, and personal, development of diverse students, faculty, and staff 2.Provide leadership, strategic planning and thoughtful development of procedures and policies to ensure that institutional processes are in keeping with a goal of equity and access for all 3.Actively solicit and manage new funding to support equity and inclusion initiatives 4.Provide strategic direction in recruiting and attracting diverse faculty and staff 5.Collaborate with the Vice President of Academic Affairs to ensure the curriculum addresses the academic needs of students in a multicultural, global society 6.Collaborate across campus departments in creating initiatives that recruit and retain a diverse student population that reflects the global nature of 21st century society 7.Methodically assess equity and inclusion programs, including budget allocations for their success in meeting specific College goals 8.Partner with leaders and employers in the Fond du Lacand wider community to advance multiculturalism and diversity Qualifications: ·Proven success as a senior leader in higher education ·Extensive experience in the field of diversity and equity, and demonstrated ability to mobilize that expertise into highly effective, practical applications ·Visionary leader with entrepreneurial approach to program development and establishing dynamic new relationships with corporations, government officials, foundations, and community leaders ·Manage the day-to-day operations of the College’s GlobalMulticulturalCenter ·Proven experience in meeting the specific needs of low income, first-generation college students ·Exceptional communication skills and facility in understanding a wide variety of constituent groups for building consensus and support for innovative solutions ·Advanced degree required; Ph.D or terminal degree ·Demonstrated budgetary management ability and a record of grant writing success ·Proven results in generating an inclusive, diverse environment ·Demonstrated record of effective community service and achievement in social justice initiatives Applications: Nominations and applications must be received by February 24, 2007.
