MANAGER OF OUTREACH TECHNOLOGY - GEORGE WASHINGTON'S MOUNT VERNON

Title: Manager of Outreach Technology

Department: Education

The purpose of this position, as Manager of Outreach Technology, is to develop and implement a strategic array of delivery systems for bringing Mount Vernon programs and materials into educational institutions and homes around the nation and the world. Mount Vernon’s Outreach Technology Initiative will serve individuals of all ages in both formal and informal settings. The Manager will make optimum use of new technologies for furthering Mount Vernon’s educational mission – to “engage…an international audience of children and adults in learning about the life, leadership, character, and legacy of George Washington within the context of his times.”

The position reports directly to Mount Vernon’s Assistant Director of Education, working in close collaboration with the Associate Director of Mount Vernon for Education.

Skills needed for position:

  • Experience in web content development and with a variety of software systems
  • Experience with technology-based learning systems
  • Knowledge of 18th-century American history
  • Experience in working with Web design firm to develop new applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

This is a full-time position with full benefits. The work week averages 40 hours, with some flexibility depending on program requirements.
