WILSON COLLEGE Founded in 1869, Wilson College is an independent, undergraduate college offering rigorous liberal arts and career preparation programs to approximately 305 undergraduate women and 427 continuing education women and men students. Wilson’s first master’s degree, a Master of Arts in Teaching, was approved by the faculty, awaits trustee approval in February, and is expected to be launched in 2006. Distinguished by close faculty-student interaction in a small yet diverse academic community, Wilson College is committed to the education of women, a tradition of excellence, and a dynamic environment in which students and faculty engage in collaborative teaching, learning and research together. The Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty is the chief academic officer of the College, reporting directly to the President. In this role, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty shares in the College-wide leadership and in institutional policy formulation, planning, and administration. Qualified candidates should have an earned Doctorate or terminal degree, with academic credentials suitable to a full professor, including a distinguished record in teaching, research, and scholarship.
