Master of Science Degree Programs in Education
Options in Curriculum
A student who wishes to obtain the Master of Science degree with an option in Curriculum must hold an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education and a valid teaching certificate in elementary and/or secondary education.

This concentration is for elementary and secondary teachers who are interested in exploring curriculum issues.

A minimum of thirty (30) semester hours is required for the Master of Science degree, including the requirements for the non-thesis or thesis approach.

A maximum of three (3) semester hours received from courses bearing a 400 level number may be included for credit in a degree program.

Culmination of the non-thesis approach program is ED 590 Educational Research Seminar, which includes an alternative research project.

The thesis approach culminates in ED 591 Independent Thesis Research in Education, a six (6)
semester-hour requirement.
