Doctorate of Education: Instructional Leadership

By the required deadline, please submit:
- The completion of a Master's degree in education or a related
field.
- Course work or experience in each of the following areas:
measurement and evaluation, foundations of education, curriculum
and instruction, special education, and computers in education.
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities that
you have attended.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all previous graduate
course work.
- Five years of full-time teaching experience in a K-12 setting.
To fulfill this requirement, send a copy of your educator
certificate(s). If your certificate does not indicate that you
have at least 5 years of full-time teaching (Professional Educator
Certificate, CT), provide a letter from an administrator working
in an accredited institution, indicating that you have at least
five years of full-time experience as a professional educator in a
K-12 setting.
- An official score on either the Graduate Record Examination
(GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT), taken within the past 5
years.
- Three recommendations attesting to the candidate's
professional educational qualifications and ability to complete a
doctoral program.
At least one of these recommendations must be completed by someone
in a supervisory capacity in an educational setting. The official
WCSU form must be used for the completion of all recommendations.
- A completed application form.
- A 2-page résumé.
- A $100 nonrefundable fee.
- A satisfactory interview with designated WCSU representatives
from the Ed.D. Admissions Committee.
NOTE:
- Please do not send any additional materials.
- Admission to the Ed.D Program in Instructional Leadership is
competitive.
- All admission requirements must be received by the Division
of Graduate Studies office on or before the application deadline.
