Graduate Student Opportunity: Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans http://www.pdsoros.org program has begun soliciting applications for its annual competition. This competition is open to new Americans in all graduate-level majors at U.S. colleges and universities who "retain loyalty and a sense of commitment to their country of origin as well as the United States . . . [and] who will continue to regard the United States as their principal residence and focus of national identity." Applicants must be no more than 30 years old at the application deadline date and either beginning their graduate program or not have completed more than two years of it. In addition, an applicant must be a resident alien; a naturalized U.S. citizen; or the child of parents who are both naturalized citizens. Fellows individually receive $20,000 each year for up to two years, plus a tuition grant (up to $16,000) paid directly to their respective institutions. The annual deadline is November 1.
