Homecoming Day at a Glance

Saturday, Oct. 22 (Homecoming Day)

VISIT THE ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
Stop by the WCSU Athletic Hall of Fame for a self-guided tour between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., front of O'Neill Center on the university's Westside campus. This self-guided tour is free and open to the public.

 

ANNUAL HOMECOMING PARENT & FACULTY LECTURE SERIES
Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. in Room 218 of the Westside Classroom Building on the university's Westside campus.

The goal of this series is to introduce and present esteemed faculty members to our parent community for an academic lecture similar to one their own student may be taking. Dr. Casey Jordan, Professor of Justice & Law Administration, internationally renowned criminologist, and TV personality, will give a presentation covering some of the cases on which she's consulted. For more information, please contact Daryle Dennis at dennisd@wcsu.edu. A complimentary continental breakfast will be provided. Sponsored by the Student Affairs Office.

 

HOMECOMING TAILGATE PARTY
Gather with friends and former classmates for a tailgating party prior to the Homecoming football game at 10 a.m. in the Westside Campus Center Parking Lot on the university's Westside campus. Open to alumni, faculty, staff, parents and students 21 years and older. $5 (regular space) or $10 (premium space) per carload. Click here for the university's Tailgating Rules and Regulations. (This event will occur rain or shine)

 

HOMECOMING CARNIVAL
Gather everyone together for the Homecoming Carnival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the O'Neill Center Parking Lot on the university's Westside campus. Open to the public. Cost is $5/person (unlimited rides) children under 10 are free. Sponsored by the Student Government Association.  (In the event of inclement weather, this event will be cancelled.)

 

HOMECOMING FOOTBALL: Colonials vs. Brockport
Join us for WCSU Football as the Colonials play Brockport College at noon at the Athletic Stadium on the university's Westside campus. Open to the public. $6 for adults and $4 for seniors age 55 and over and children age 12 and under.  (This event will occur rain or shine)

 

MEN'S RUGBY MATCH
Stop by the Men's Rugby Match vs. Western New England College at 1 p.m.  at the Rugby field on the university's Westside campus.  (This event will occur rain or shine)

 

ALUMNI HOSPITALITY TENT
Celebrate with alumni and members of the university community and partake in some good cheer from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Alumni Hospitality Tent (across from the athletic stadium) on the university's Westside campus. Open to alumni, faculty, staff, parents and students 21 years and older. $5/person. For more information, call (203) 837-8298. Sponsored by the WCSU Alumni Association.

 

STREET FAIR
Support WCSU's student organizations at this Homecoming tradition from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Feldman Dr. (side of the O'Neill Center) on the university's Westside campus. Free and open to alumni, students, parents, faculty and staff. Sponsored by the Student Government Association. (In the event of inclement weather, this event will be held in the Westside Campus Center)

 

HOMECOMING BBQ
Join the university community at this Homecoming fave from 4 to 6 p.m., on Feldman Dr. (side of the O'Neill Center) on the university's Westside campus. Cost. Sponsored by the Student Government Association.  (In the event of inclement weather, this event will be held in the Westside Campus Center)
 

CLASS OF 1961 GOLDEN REUNION CELEBRATION
Take a trip down memory lane with the class of 1961 as they celebrate their 50th class reunion beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall on the university's Midtown campus. PLANETARIUM SHOW AND TELESCOPE VIEWING
WCSU will host a 6 p.m. planetarium show, followed by telescope viewing of the sky from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Westside Observatory and Planetarium on the university's Westside campus. OPERA PERFORMANCE
The WCSU Opera will present "A Menotti Birthday Celebration," featuring vignettes from "The Old Maid & The Thief," "The Telephone" and "The Medium" at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, and 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, in Ives Concert Hall in White Hall on the university's Midtown campus. HOMECOMING PARTY
Join students for a Homecoming Party at 9 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom located in the Westside Campus Center on the university's Westside campus. Free to students, guest policy in effect. Co-sponsored by the Black Student Alliance, Program Activities Council and Student Government Association.

There will be great decorations, a DJ and so much more. The shuttle will be running extended shifts. No admission allowed after 11:30 p.m.
