Each hall has PASS (Peer Academic Support Services) volunteers who are willing and able to help you. PASS members offer to lend a hand in their best classes where you might need a hand. You can visit PASS members in any building! Click on the link on the logo to the left to see a list for each hall.
Looking for assistance with your writing? Need an extra pair of eyes and some helpful suggestions? Just click on the logo above to see when staff from the Writing Center will be available!
What will you find here?
Welcome to the ARM Academic Success Spot. As you know, each of your buildings has at least one ARM, or Academic Resource Mentor. But there are lots of you, and they
can't be everywhere at once, so we've created this page to provide you with some
resources that you can access when your ARM isn't there to help.
Who and what are the ARMs?
ARMs are Academic Resource Mentors -- peers whose goal is to help you find the information, locate the resources, and connect you to people who can help you in your academic endeavors. They provide academic and life skills programming, too. ARMs have office hours in your halls, when you can see them to get assistance. They are students, just like you! They can also help you touch base with PASS members, student volunteers who offer tutoring or assistance in subjects they do well in.
We're sure you'll see your ARM around in the building, but just in case, here are the ARMs for 2012-13:

Sean Keenan, Fairfield Hall |
Hi! My name is Sean Keenan. I am the ARM of Fairfield Hall. Currently, I am a double major in English Comparative Literature and History. In the future I hope to pursue higher education in graduate school and maybe even get my Ph.D. In the meantime, I am hoping to gain some valuable experience helping others and become more active in the campus community. Aside from being an ARM, I am also a member of WCSU's history journal Cleo's Corner. Feel free to ask for help or just come and talk to me about what you want to get out of your experience at Western. |

Samantha Augustine, Litchfield Hall |
Hi there! My name is Sam Augustine and I am in my fourth and final year here at WCSU. I am a very active member of our campus community, I have a double major in Psychology and Biology, and I hope to gain some experience in the medical field once I graduate in 2013 so that I may apply to Master's programs to become a Physician Assistant. Although this is my first year as an Academic Resource Mentor, I have lived on the Midtown and West Side campuses as a resident and last year I was part of the staff as a Resident Assistant in Litchfield Hall. I am so happy to be returning to my home sweet Litchfield in my new position so that I can assist you in your adjustment to the changes that we all experience in our first year at WCSU. I am here to help you familiarize yourself with the academic policies and procedures at WestConn, introduce you to various resources on campus, to help you achieve academic excellence and success, and to show you what it really means to be a member of this amazing community that we have built at WCSU. I urge you to knock on my door to introduce yourself and stop by at my office hours if you need some help getting your work done! |

Nicole Swenson, Newbury Hall |
Hello! I am Nicole Swenson and I am the ARM of Newbury Hall! I am a pre-nursing major who dreams of moving to California after I graduate. I love to read and always seem to be listening to music. If you notice I have headphones in my ears, do not worry about bothering me because I am always willing to stop listening to my music to help. I listen to many different types of music for studying and often have many different techniques of studying for each class. I am also part of a sorority on campus called Sigma Delta Tau and I never imagined I would find a group of girls I am proud to say are my sisters! |

Anna Bank, Centennial Hall |
My name is Anna Bank and I am one of the ARMs in Centennial Hall this year. I am currently a senior and an English major with a minor in Psychology. I am from North Haven, CT but I feel that WestConn has become my home away from home. After I graduate I plan on attending graduate school to further my education. I love running and working out, so you can always find me jogging around campus or at the gym. I am passionate about helping others, so my door is always open if you need some extra help or just someone to talk to! |

Emily Freundt, Centennial Hall |
My name is Emily Freundt and I am one of the ARMs in Centennial Hall. I am a junior majoring in Elementary Education with a focus in Mathematics. I am excited for the opportunity to continue helping my fellow students as an ARM this year and I can't wait to get to know my new residents. As an education major, helping students learn and better themselves has always been my passion. I am very friendly and always around and willing to help, so feel free to stop by even if it is just to say hi. |

Nicholas Graham, Grasso Hall |
My name is Nicholas Graham and I am a returning member of the Academic Resource Mentor staff for the 2012/2013 year. I am the new ARM of Grasso Hall and am a current Senior studying Secondary Education with a concentration in English. I was the ARM of Centennial Hall last year and had a very successful time mentoring and working with many students at WCSU and look forward to continuing to serve as a valuable tool for the students living on campus. |

Natalie Glybin, Pinney Hall |
Hi! My name is Natalie and I'm one of the ARMs in Pinney Hall. I am a junior nursing major with a minor in psychology. I also tutor for the WCSU Tutoring Resource Center, located in Berkshire Hall, and I am involved with the Program Activities Council on campus. I decided to become an ARM because I find helping others rewarding. That's actually one of the reasons I decided to pursue a career in nursing as well. I'm very excited about this coming year and hope you won't hesitate to see me if you need help! |

Adaobi Ogbenta, Pinney Hall |
Hi, my name is Adaobi Ogbenta and this is my first year as an ARM. I'm a senior majoring in nursing and a native of Bridgeport, CT. I am currently the President of WCSU's Student Nurse's Association chapter and work as a Computer Center Assistant on campus. I'm all about balancing work with play and try to find opportunities to participate in campus activities and events. I'm looking forward to this new experience and helping in any way I can to make this year a successful and enjoyable one for you. |
