The Ancell School of Business is pleased to announce that, contingent upon funding, applications for a new tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Accounting will be accepted.
This position, along with six full-time faculty members, plus adjuncts instructors, will support both a BBA and a MBA program. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, the successful candidate’s responsibilities will include academic advising and service to the department, university, and profession. The Accounting Department currently has more than 280 undergraduate majors, an increase of over 30% in the last eight year. The University, located in upper Fairfield County, has relatively small class sizes, maintains a commitment to diversity, and boasts one of the most ethnically, racially, and culturally diverse student bodies in the State. Strong international and community partnerships create opportunities for students, staff, and faculty. Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Accounting. Candidates with a Ph.D. in a related field and holding a C.P.A. may be considered. ABD candidates in Accounting who expect to complete their degree by May 2010 may be considered. Significant experience, with four or more years as a teacher or professional accountant, is preferred. A record of scholarly productivity in peer-reviewed journals is preferred. Professional certification is preferred. Professionally qualified candidates may be considered. Those candidates with four or more years of university teaching experience are preferred. A professionally qualified candidate must possess a master’s degree in accounting or taxation and hold a C.P.A. or CMA certification. A professionally qualified candidate must have professional experience in accounting that is significant in duration and level of responsibility and current at the time of hiring.
