Assistant Professor - Two Positions Available

The Department of Communication seeks two tenure-track Assistant Professors to teach basic courses in interpersonal and small group communication and advanced courses in relational communication.  The Communication program endeavors to provide a thorough, modern education in communication skills and theory that is tailored to the individual student’s background and career objectives. The Department offer majors in Relational Communication and Media Arts (Journalism, Public Relations and Composition are housed in other departments). WCSU is a dynamic, diverse workplace and the ability to work with students, faculty and staff from various backgrounds and cultures is highly valued.

 

Qualifications:  Ability to teach fundamentals of communication study, theory and research methods is required, as is depth in some combination of interpersonal, organizational, or mediated communication.  Ability to teach Media Studies a plus.  Demonstrated teaching excellence is a must.  Scholarship level appropriate to experience required, as well as evidence of a commitment to university service.  PhD in Communication or highly-related field, required, but will consider ABD near completion.  Masters and/or undergraduate degrees in Communication also preferred.
