Applications are being accepted for a one year, special appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Education and Educational Psychology. This position’s primary responsibilities include working collaboratively in the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) program, teaching M.A.T. courses, undergraduate and MS Education courses. Faculty member may supervise elementary and secondary student teachers. Student advisement, department and university wide committee assignments, and involvement in performance based assessment will be required.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, reading, literacy, or a related field, teacher certification and experience in K-12 public schools is required. Candidates with higher education experience, current knowledge of state and federal public school initiatives, expertise in formative and summative assessment (NCATE and CSDE standards) and proficiency in instructional technology are preferred.
