 One Year Special Appointment

 

Applications are being accepted for a one year, special appointment Assistant Professor in the Department of Education & Educational Psychology Department.  This position’s primary responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate level reading, literacy, and teaching strategies courses, and provide student teacher supervision in the elementary education program. Student advisement and involvement in the student learning performance based assessment process as it applies to state and national teaching standards will also be required.

 

Qualifications:  An earned doctorate in educational curriculum and instruction, reading, literacy, or a related field is required as is a minimum of 3 years public school teaching experience. Applicant must also hold or be eligible for Connecticut State Teacher Certification. Preference will be given to applicants who have recent higher education teaching experience and to those who have expertise and experience in performance based assessment as it pertains to NCATE and CSDE standards.
