The Department of History and Non-Western Cultures at
Western Connecticut State University is seeking candidates for an
Assistant Professor in European History. The research and teaching
concentration is in the subfield of Europe and Empire. The area
of specialization should be in early-modern or modern European History.
The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester,
including survey courses as well as upper-division classes in the
specialty and graduate courses in the M.A. program. The successful
candidate is also expected to conduct scholarly research, advise
students, and serve on departmental and University committees.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. must be in hand at time of
appointment. Preference will be given to those with evidence of
successful teaching experience. As WCSU is a
dynamic, diverse workplace, the proven ability to work effectively with
people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures is highly valued.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
