Western Connecticut State University’s Ancell School of Business is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for a tenure-track position in the Division of Justice and Law Administration (JLA).

The Division of Justice and Law Administration offers a Bachelor of Science in Justice and Law Administration and a Master of Science in Justice Administration. There are options in legal studies, paralegal studies, law enforcement, corrections, and criminology. Our mission is to provide an integration of substantive and practical education in courses of study designed to prepare students for a variety of career choices in law, public service, social systems and private enterprise.

The position is a tenure track opportunity in our Justice and Law Administration degree program with a focus in our Law Enforcement, Criminology and Corrections/Offender Rehabilitation concentration.

The successful candidate will teach 4 courses per semester, serve on business school and university committees, advise students on course selection and career opportunities, and engage in other division related activities.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate must have an earned Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, or closely related field of study, with a specific focus in criminal/juvenile justice and/or criminology, corrections/offender rehabilitation, and prior teaching experience. ABD’s with a completion date prior to appointment or within one year (1) of appointment will be considered.  A Juris Doctor (J.D) alone will not fulfill the minimum educational requirement for this position. A history of research and publications is desirable as is a commitment to meet the scholarly requirements of the division. As WCSU is a dynamic, diverse workplace, the proven ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures is highly valued. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
