Two (2) tenure-track positions are available beginning August, 2008. These positions were previously advertised at the Assistant Professor rank, however, the University will determine rank based upon qualified candidates credentials. Rank will be commensurate with final candidate’s experience and qualifications.
New academic programs, new construction projects, including a new “state of the art” student center, and increasing student enrollment all serve to make Western Connecticut State University a vibrant, active campus serving 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students. WestConn is one of the four comprehensive universities that comprise the Connecticut State University System. The main campus is located in Danbury, 50 miles north of New York City. The University is divided into the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Professional Studies, the Ancell School of Business and the newly created, School of Visual and Performing Arts. The Management Department includes eight full-time faculty, plus adjunct instructors, who provide a BBA Management major and a Master of Health Administration degree and also support our MBA program.
Two (2) tenure-track positions are available beginning August, 2008. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Teaching assignments may include strategic management, entrepreneurship /small business, organizational behavior and other general management courses. Teaching load may be split between the Bachelor’s programs at our Danbury and Waterbury campuses and the Master’s of Business Administration program. Scholarly activity and university service expected.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Management required (final stage ABDs in Management also considered). College teaching experience is preferred. Candidates must present evidence of research and publication and an active agenda of scholarship. Candidates should be professionally active and engaged in college / university service. Business or managerial experience is a plus. As WCSU is a dynamic, diverse workplace, the proven ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures is highly valued.
