WestConn’s BSW program is part of the School of Professional Studies and is accredited by Council on Social Work Education. The Social Work Department prepares students to become generalist, entry-level social workers who provide services that promote and strengthen the well-being of individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. The Department of Social Work is pleased to announce a new tenure track position beginning in Fall, 2008. Duties of the successful candidate will include teaching across the undergraduate curriculum, including generalist social work theory and practice, as well as field responsibilities.
Qualifications: Candidates must
possess an MSW and DSW or Ph.D. in Social Work or a related field (ABD
will be considered). Candidates must also have two years post MSW
practice experience, with teaching experience in Social Work preferred.
Valued qualities include a commitment to classroom teaching and student
advisement, ability to work with a team, and interest in assessment and
program evaluation. A specialty area in gerontology, international
perspectives, and/or social administration is an asset. As

backgrounds and cultures is highly valued.
