Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Social Work at Western Connecticut State University seeks a tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor for our baccalaureate social work program. The successful candidate will serve as Field Coordinator and teach one to two courses per semester, in addition to providing academic advising and service to the department, university, and profession. The position requires some compensated summer field coordination work.

Qualifications:  Candidates must possess an MSW or MSW with DSW or Ph.D. in Social Work or a related field from an accredited college or university. Candidates must also have two years post-MSW practice experience.  College or University teaching experience and practice experience as a field instructor are preferred.  Familiarity with the Northeast regions' social work and human service organizations is also valued. Additional valued qualifications include strong communication and organizational skills, a commitment to supporting and further developing a vibrant and responsive field education component, and a commitment to classroom teaching, student advisement, and working in a collaborative, collegial department.
