Temporary Part-time Job Opportunity for Technology Solutions for NonProfits (TS4NP)
TS4NP is a volunteer led nonprofit delivering affordable Information Technology (IT) resources to small and medium sized Western Connecticut non-profits to facilitate greater business effectiveness and efficiency. Client agencies have their back office applications and data hosted on our server, and receive education on how to use the applications (Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, GiftWorks).
Employees will have the following responsibilities:
- Support customer workstations, either remotely or onsite as needed
- Assist in customer migrations
- Write the customer welcome package
- Become familiar with Giftworks donor management software and create some educational materials for clients
- Work with the marketing subcommittee to improve the TS4NP website
- Assist in customer assessments and writing up the documentation
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Lead Technologist
Job conditions:
- Employees will work from home, though a desk location can be provided if needed. Must be available for some scheduled hours between 8:30am and 5:30pm Monday through Friday.
- Job training will be provided as needed
- Reasonable work-related cellphone and internet connection expenses will be reimbursed
- Access to a car is necessary for visiting customers. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed. A valid drivers license and proof of insurance are required.
Employees will work for the United Way of Western Connecticut, and will be compensated at a rate of $15/hour.
Skills desired:
- Experience with Windows XP and Windows 7 workstations and ability to resolve customer issues
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Ability to be self-directing and work independently
- Experience with VMWare, Windows Server, Windows Terminal Services would be nice, but not required.

If you are having trouble installing Clean Access on your machine, here's what you can do:

- Schedule an appointment with the help desk (see instructions below)
- Schedule an appoinment with the helpdesk (203) 837-8467, or request_university_computing@wcsu.edu if unable to get through the Clean Access installation process.
- Bring WestConnect Student ID card *
- Bring Laptop
- Bring Laptop power supply
- Bring WestConnect Student ID card *
- Bring desktop computer.
- Bring a keyboard and mouse. (In most cases, we will probably have an extra keyboard and mouse, however if we don't, you can save yourself some time from running back to your room to pick up a keyboard and mouse)
**Students MUST remain at the staffed lab while our technicians work on their computer(s).
