Required Virus Scan
WestConn now requires that all Windows machines connecting to the ResNet (wired or wireless) must have an anti-virus software installed. WestConn has purchased McAfee anti-virus software license for all students. This software is available to all students at no cost and could be downloaded from the WCSU Anti-virus Software Download webpage. It is strongly advised that anti-virus software must be kept up to date with virus definitions for it to be effective. Clean Access agent supports a large number of anti-virus applications, including the following mainstream virus scan applications:
- Symantec Norton Antivirus
- Network Associates McAfee Virus Scan
- TrendMicro Virus Scan
If you run a virus scanning application that is currently not supported by Clean Access, you will be required to uninstall it and install McAfee Virus Scan. Check to see if you virus scanning application is supported by Clean Access. Please contact the help desk at 837-8467 if you need assistance with the virus scan requirement.
